About Sarah

Sarah MacDonald is a long-time Dedham resident, and has served the town in numerous capacities for over a decade. Sarah was a member of the Board of Selectmen from 2008 to 2014, where she sat on several subcommittees including the Master Plan Implementation Committee, Adult Use Overlay District Committee, and the Dedham 375 Committee. Since 2014, Sarah has been a Town Meeting member, representing Precinct 5.

 

Many local organizations have benefited from Sarah’s talents, passion, and commitment to the community. She has leveraged her deep experience in running organizations and communicating with diverse constituencies to successfully bring people together in a collaborative and productive way.  Sarah has served as the Chair of Dedham Parent Time from 2016 to 2018, and on the Executive Leadership Team of Women in Democracy Dedham (WINDD) since its inception.

 

Professionally, Sarah is the Executive Director of Life Science Cares, a non-profit organization dedicating to eliminating the impact of poverty in the greater Boston area by leveraging the financial resources of local life science companies. Prior to joining Life Science Cares, Sarah served as Executive Vice President at MassBio, the Life Science industry trade association, where she led policy, communications, events, and strategy of the 1000+ member company organization.

 

Prior to MassBio, Sarah held several association and policy positions, including Interim Executive Director of the Massachusetts Pharmacists Association and as Deputy Chief of Staff in the Department of Business Development for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

 

Sarah is a graduate of Hartwick College and has a Master’s degree from Northeastern University. She and her husband, local photographer Sean Browne, are the proud parents of 5-year-old son Griffin.   Sarah is committed to continuing her service to the town of Dedham and would be honored to have your vote in her run for Selectwoman.
